Steve’s professional career spans over 35 years in high impact, strategic, and progressive executive leadership roles within multinational business. Specifically, these businesses include Thule, Black & Decker, Xerox, and SC Johnson, as well as significant portfolio of consulting clients.

These companies have provided Steve with extensive expertise in manufacturing, distribution/warehousing, and service segments which also spans across diverse industries including consumer products, electronics, technology, food, and printing. He has a highly successful track record in helping companies increase profits and case flow while strengthening their operations, processes, execution, and management teams.

Today, he is CEO of The Huff Group and by providing consulting CFO/COO support he has helped many companies to grow and reach their goals. He also offers a number of executive workshops and programs:

Career Highlights

As CFO/COO of Thule North America, Steve demonstrated an ability to effectively convince operations and technical expertise with finance and profitability enhancement. At Thule, he directed Purchasing and Distribution operations, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, and M&A while managing a total spending budget of over $40 million. He also directed due diligence efforts for five Thule acquisitions, established cost and management accounting systems, and built financial models to enable profitable growth through new product investments. Steve also led Thule’s conversion to an Oracle-based ERP.

During the 11 years he served at Thule, the company achieved a tremendous growth rate in sales and operating profits. This success led to Thule receiving the award of “Swedish-American Company of the Year”. While at Thule, he was also named “Financial Executive of the Year” by the Fairfield County Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

At Black & Decker, he served as the first financial executive integrated into the General Electric Housewares operations after its acquisition by B&D.

Steve received his BBA in Finance/Economics from the University of Notre Dame, earning the Herman Crown Award for the highest academic excellence in Finance. He has been an adjunct professor in Sacred Heart University’s adult education program, where he taught Finance for Non-Financial Managers.

He has also served on the Board of Directors for Connecticut’s Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.
